Team MayStreet

Reuniting to Champion a Worthy Cause

There are many differing opinions when it comes to defining what makes a team a team. For MayStreet, a market data provider, being a team means more than simply working together effectively – it’s also about respect and compassion. This philosophy has inspired the company to participate in this year’s Wall Street Rides FAR.

“MayStreet places a high value on integrity and treating people with respect, and Wall Street Rides FAR, without a doubt, embodies those values,” said Manisha Kimmel, Chief Policy Officer at MayStreet. “We have a family-oriented culture and strive to make a positive impact in all that we do both for the industry and in our community. We are happy to have this opportunity to support the incredible work enabled by the Autism Science Foundation.”

A first-time participant and sponsor of the Ride, Team MayStreet is greatly looking forward to convening this October not only for the opportunity to support this worthy cause, but also for the rare chance to spend time with one another after being physically separated for months. Having worked remotely since the onset of the pandemic and with employees based across the country and overseas, Kimmel shared that the excitement and support for the Ride among MayStreet employees has been outstanding.

“We are really excited to come together for this event. Many of us will continue to be remote even after we can return to the office in September, so this will be a chance for us to finally connect in person and spend quality time together outside of work,” said Kimmel, who is serving as MayStreet’s Team Captain. “We are blown away by the level of enthusiasm our team has for this event, with people generously donating to the fundraising pages of their co-workers and encouraging each other to participate. We even have a few folks traveling to New York from other states specifically for the event!”

For Team MayStreet, championing the important mission of the Autism Science Foundation and calling attention to the critical importance of supporting autism research is also a deeply personal one, with many participating members having their own connections to the cause.

“My nephew has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and was diagnosed with PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Delay-Not Otherwise Specified) at a very young age,” said Shawn Muldoon, Senior Sales Director at MayStreet. “His speech was severely delayed until about age 4, and I was the first person that he ever spoke to, resulting in a very special relationship for us both. Seeing the challenges he has had to overcome firsthand, I am thrilled to be giving back by participating in this wonderful event.”

“I have a nephew with an ASD and a friend whose son has an ASD. My sister in-law and friend have both done an amazing job caring for their children,” shared Kimmel. “The past year has not been easy for any of us but has been especially challenging for those on the spectrum. Wall Street Rides FAR is such a positive event and helps those who need it most. We realize that now more than ever, supporting and highlighting these critical research projects are key to improving the day-to-day lives of people with an ASD.”

With firms and organizations from across the industry set to attend the Ride, Team MayStreet—some of whom have not been to New York in many years—is looking forward to seeing friends and former colleagues from the Wall Street community, and for a reason much more important than any bottom line.

“We have friendships throughout the industry and are excited to see them at the event,” said Amanda Jones, EVP of Enterprise Solutions at MayStreet. “The fact that Wall Street Rides FAR is such a success seems to prove that we aren’t the only ones who count our colleagues across the industry as valued friends.”

Likewise, Patrick Flannery, CEO and Co-Founder of MayStreet, added that the Ride is also an opportunity to showcase the philanthropic side of the industry, one which, while incredibly active, may sometimes be overshadowed during the trading day.

“There tends to be a one-sided view of what people who work on Wall Street are like, but we, and our organizations, are all three-dimensional,” said Flannery. “I think Wall Street Rides FAR is also an important opportunity for everyone to see another side of our incredible industry, and we at MayStreet are proud to be a part of that.”
